Jim Summers was honored during the March 6th BFNWV meeting as being a Conservation Director for BASS Fed. Nation of WV from January of 1994 until December of 2009. Jim's many accomplishments included several fish habitat and vegetation projects on many lakes and streams including bringing back the Ohio River to a respectable bass fishery. Jim worked with the WVDNR on several conservation projects throughout the state, improved angler access at several locations with new docks and better ramps. Every legislative session, Jim worked with Senators and Delegates to promote bass fishing and pass legislation in support of all sportsmen throughout the state. Even while concentrating most of his efforts on BASS Conservation, Jim still managed to win two titles as BFNWV State Champion and earn berths on several State Teams.

Jim retired as Conservation Director on 12/31/09, but continues to be extremely active as the BFNWV Conservation Director's Assistant and works as a Regional Director for the WV Wildlife Federation.
