Press Release
Greenville, SC- Gary Dobyns,
well known West Coast professional angler and owner of Dobyns
Rods announced today that a new freshwater series of conservation rods will be
introduced this year to help support the efforts of conservation minded
organizations like the BASS Federation Nation. The Freshwater Conservation Rod
program was introduced to the State Conservation Directors today during the
BASS Federation Nation national conservation workshop held in conjunction with
the 2008 Bassmaster Classic.
“Conservation and preserving our fisheries are
something that we talk about all the time and so often nothing gets done”, says Gary Dobyns. “
That is why I wanted to align the Dobyns
Rod Company with Conservation organizations and support their efforts. Now a portion of rod sales will benefit conservation efforts
nationwide”.
The conservation rod program was developed in
cooperation with Dobyns Pro Staffer Tim Cook, State
Conservation Director for the Texas BASS Federation Nation and the 2006 BASS
Federation Nation Conservation Director of the Year. “Gary Dobyns’ commitment to supporting angling conservation
efforts sets a remarkable example for the entire sport fishing industry”, says
Cook. “$25 from the sale of every conservation series rod will go to
supporting Dobyns conservation partners. In many
cases, this will provide state conservation directors with a budget to offset
expenses where there may have been no budget before.”
The Program will involve Dobyns’ two best selling rods and will retail for $169.99.
